And done! Now, you can easily make payments via any QR scan and transfer money to your bank account or someone else's bank account. You can also request money through the Freecharge app by simply entering a UPI ID or mobile number or selecting a contact from your contacts list.

How UPI works ?
Using Freecharge UPI is simple and easy. All you have to do is follow the following steps based on what you wish to do.
Payment via QR scan

Click on the 'Scan any QR' icon

Enter the amount to be paid

Enter your UPI PIN and complete the transaction
Freecharge UPI ‘Scan & Pay’ feature works with all the QRs like Paytm, Amazon, PhonePe, etc.
Send money

Click on ‘UPI Send Money’

Select the transaction type (UPI ID/ Mobile Number/ A/C+IFSC/ Scan QR)

Enter the required details and the amount to be sent

Complete the transaction by entering your UPI PIN
You can send money by inputting any valid UPI ID. The receiver doesn’t need to have a Freecharge UPI ID.
If you want to request money

Go to the ‘Accounts’ tab

Click on ‘UPI Receive Money’

Select the transaction type (UPID/ Mobile Number/ Show QR)

Enter the UPI ID or mobile number or pick a contact from your contacts list to send a request. You can also click on ‘Show QR’ to generate a QR with preset amount and share it with the sender

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Are UPI and BHIM the same?
No, BHIM is just like any other UPI app that allows UPI money transfer, while UPI is a payment model that allows you to send/receive money.
2. What is a UPI ID?
UPI ID is a unique Virtual Payment Address (VPA) that is created in a UPI app to enable UPI payments. Multiple UPI IDs can be made for a single bank account.
3. Where can I find my UPI ID?
You can find your UPI id on the top left corner of the app home page.
4. Can I modify my UPI ID?
Yes, you can modify your UPI Id simply by following these steps:
a) Go to the Accounts tab in the Freecharge app
b) Click on BHIM UPI Settings
c) Edit UPI Id
5. Does Freecharge UPI allow money transfer to another merchant UPI ID?
You can input any valid UPI to send money. The receiver doesn’t need to have a Freecharge UPI ID.
